Saturday, April 14 was the date of 2007's Columbia Community Outreach, this year's official day of community service at the University. The volunteers were treated excellently, given breakfast, lunch, and a pizza party, as well as goodies like T-shirts and beach balls.

On Monday morning, 32 students at Virginia Tech were killed and about 30 others injured by a shooting at the hands of a fellow student. This tragedy raises questions about the nature of events like this and what Columbia might do in a similar situation.
