Columbia track and field scored a major victory on one of the collegiate track world's biggest stages on Saturday, when the men's 4x800-meter relay team captured the men's Championship of America title at the Penn Relays with a time of 7:22.64-a new school record.

Men's tennis scored a landmark victory yesterday against Penn, 4-1, earning a spot in the NCAA tournament in two weeks. For the first time since the 2000 season, the Lions will compete on a national level.

The 2007 Columbia baseball team took the field for the final time this weekend playing two doubleheaders against local rival Stony Brook. After a solid Ivy League season, the Lions were swept in the home-and-home series to close out the year.

This past week was a difficult one for the Columbia baseball team. After playing quality baseball two weekends ago en route to winning three of four against Cornell, the Lions had a change of fortune this week. Columbia ended its season on a sour note, losing five out of six this past week.

The 2007 Columbia lacrosse season has come and gone, ending as it began-with a sound defeat. But the team that began its season with a 14-4 loss to Denver is a very different team than the one that lost last Friday to Princeton, 19-8.

The Columbia heavyweight men's rowing team capped its regular season on a high note by taking back the Doc Lusins Cup, defeating Boston University by nearly 13 seconds. Syracuse won the race, crossing the line four seconds ahead of the Lions.

Since the end of Ivy League play, the Columbia softball team's performance has been outstanding. After sweeping St. Peter's on Thursday, the Lions extended their win streak to four games, defeating Monmouth yesterday in both games of the doubleheader in New Jersey.
