Around this time last spring, depression struck one of my closest friends at Columbia. While he had always been an outgoing, overachieving guy, he gradually began to withdraw from his social relationships and retreat into his room.

After weeks of prowling Butler at all hours, and even being forced to join the hated caste of carrel squatters, one would think that turning in my senior thesis would have been a great relief. Then again, one would think the same would be true of my imminent graduation.
