After steadily improving in the weeks leading up to the Ivy Championships, a very young men's golf team went into the conference tournament entertaining hopes of finishing in amongst the top three.

The Light Blue heavyweights entered the season with many unknowns after losing several seniors last season. As the season ends the Lions still have questions. In six races this season, Columbia has been victorious once. The only cup the team managed to win was the Alumni Cup versus M.I.T.

This year's indoor track and field season was highlighted by the remarkable progress of the women's squad. After finishing in ninth place at last year's indoor Heptagonal Championships, the women jumped a remarkable four spots to capture the fifth position in this year's Heps.

The Ivy League is the strongest top-to-bottom conference in Division One women's lacrosse; four teams were ranked in the top 15 and two qualified for the NCAA tournament.

With ten returning players and a talented class of first-years, the men's soccer team had high hopes at the beginning of their fall season, but injuries and roster inconsistencies led to a less-than-stellar 6-6-2 record overall and a 3-3-1 record in the Ivy League.

Sometimes for Columbia, everything goes right. The 2001-2002 men's swimming and diving team set an example for Columbia that realistic goals can be accomplished.

The men's tennis team handed over the Ivy crown after reigning over the league for the past two years. Injuries sustained in the fall and a shift in the Lions' lineup shook up the team, which finished with a 1-6 Ivy record, 5-12 overall.
