A resolution to student and administrative disagreement over advising seems to be drawing nearer with the Office of Student Affairs's announcement last month of a planned system overhaul which will give students what some have long been agitating for: individual advisers.

It could have been another one of Rupp's success. The construction of the 110th St. faculty residence and elementary school could have greatly improved Columbia-community relations while attracting new professors to the school. Instead, it has been a significant source of controversy this year.

In Harlem, gentrification has as many faces as there are people affected by it; everybody has a different story to tell about the spectre that has been lurking above 116th St. for almost 10 years, but not everybody agrees about what the problem is--or if there even is one.

In the past year, Facilities Management has improved classrooms, residence halls, and even community relations.

They are consistently one of the least recognized teams on campus and regularly one of the best. This season was no different for the Women's Archery team which took second at Indoor Nationals and has performed strongly throughout the outdoor season.

In perhaps their best season in fifteen years, Columbia baseball made a respectable run at the Gehrig Division title, keeping themselves within reach of dethroning Princeton, the reigning six-time champions, up until the last weekend of the Ivy season.

Lions Fencing seems immune to the struggles that have plagued other Columbia sports teams. A season that was supposed to be a rebuilding year became another banner season.

The Columbia football team was surrounded by optimism at the beginning of the season. They returned the nucleus of their offense, including their standout running back, senior Johnathan Reese, who was drafted by the New York Jets durin the offseason.
