Whenever I listen to Guided By Voices, I always get a creeping feeling that Fred Durst has his hand behind the music, in some little way. Perhaps it's the aura of his influence and overpowering confidence that the Total Request formula will work for a very, very long time.

Kenneth Koch, 77, professor of English and Comparative Literature, died at his Manhattan home on July 6 after a long bout with leukemia. Koch, a veteran of the English department as both a student and professor, served Columbia for over 30 years.

The much-anticipated sequel to 1997's classically humorous and entertaining Men in Black is not exactly disappointing. Men in Black II still retains elements of its original's comedic spoof on aliens and humans. However, I found that something was lacking in this movie: freshness.
