As a former athlete I have always been able to pick other athletes out of a crowd. Lots of times it is easy because they tower over everyone and have arms bigger than a normal personís legs, but mostly, there is an air about them that is impossible to miss.

The music industry has never seen such an infiltration of pop as it has experienced in the past decade. In the Eighties, all sorts of pop was considered underground or cultist, such as British New Wave, music that was heard only in London and Manchester clubs of days long gone.

An older, wiser friend once told me to be wary of anyone who overused the phrase "at the end of the day" to introduce a profound thought. I'd add to that, be wary of profound thoughts in general. Especially in pop music. Profundity should be subtle; it comes when you least expect it.
