I'm standing outside at Baker Field for Media Day, and the Columbia football season has already gotten off to an inauspicious start. There are about as many members of the media present as games the Lions have won in each season since 1999—three.

The yummiest cupcake youíll ever eat is at the Magnolia Bakery (401 Bleecker Street at 11th St.). I was introduced to these wonderful confections by my L&R teacher on the last day of class. You can either hope to be so lucky or trek down to the West Village and treat yourself.

I've scoped out bathrooms high and low at this University, and the best bathroom is on the 17th floor of the Sulzberger Tower. Exit the elevators, and enter either lavatory on the right. Heating included.
