The Columbia field hockey team of 2001 experienced a season of frustration. Despite retaining the core from its 2000 ECAC championship team, the Lions went 5-11 and tied for a league-worst 1-6 in Ivy competition. In one two-week stretch, Columbia dropped six straight decisions.
