The Intrepid party has a new home. After a month of brainstorming, debating, and negotiating, the year-end celebration committee decided on March 13 to hold the event at Bridgewaters, an upscale celebration venue at the South Street Seaport.

The war in Iraq officially came to Columbia yesterday at an afternoon confrontation on Low Plaza between students participating in the walk-out to protest the beginning of the military campaign and a smaller group of students who were gathered in support of American soldiers.

Last night, 30 faculty members participated in what Columbia's web site billed as a "teach-in" designed "to promote continued critical examination of the most pressing concerns of our time." The goal of the event, presumably, was to spark intellectual, scholarly discussion about the war in Iraq.
