It was another weekend of building and preparing, but thanks to a good overall performance by the varsity lightweights, it was one of winning as well.

Combating harsh weather and an even harsher opponent, the Columbia women's crew team held its own last Saturday on the Raritan River in New Jersey, losing to Princeton and beating Rutgers. The meet had its ups and downs for the Lions, as the team did not hit the water on all cylinders.

You see them working at a lightning-fast pace, rolling balls of dough in an assembly line, from the window outside of Mandoo Bar on 32nd Street. They comprise a team of about three women who daily crank out hundreds of small balls of dough. They are the mandoo makers.
