Sometimes numbers can be misleading. Columbia gained 603 yards of total offense Saturday afternoon against the Lafayette Leopards and still lost, 41-27, due in large part to career games from Lafayette senior quarterback Marco Glavic and senior wide receiver Jeremy Burkes.

Before Saturday, the women's soccer team had yet to play focused, consistent soccer for all 90 minutes of a game. Their good play had always been mixed with several minutes of sloppiness, when teamwork and mental toughness were hard to find.
