Senior Maurice Murphy is no stranger to the ups and downs of Columbia athletics. The point guard was a valuable reserve on the 2001-2002 men's basketball squad that finished first in the nation in scoring defense. But he was also a part of last year's disastrous 2-25 season.

For Head Coach Jay Butler, convincing Lizi Chorney and Lisa Copeland to come to Columbia was easy. The coach actively pursued the two players while they were in high school but failed to bring them to Morningside Heights.
