When Columbia's Web site was overhauled last fall, some of the changes were more immediately visible than others. The crown in the upper left hand corner of the Web site was also redesigned, and Columbia officials say this change was purely for aesthetic purposes.

Columbia students in search of the perfect internship have long complained that the University does little to assist them in finding or financing such opportunities. The Center for Career Education says that it is in the process of researching means of funding interns.
