To say that the last 18 months have been stormy for Columbia volleyball would be a massive understatement. Five players quit the team after the 2002 season in protest of former Head Coach Carolyn Elwood's leadership. The team cancelled its appearances in spring 2003 competitions.

A lot of my friends are Yankee fans. My editor, Theo Orsher, is a particularly annoying one. My roommate and one of my suitemates are both Yankee fans. A good friend of mine in high school was a Yankee fan, and, most importantly, my Lit Hum professor is a Yankee fan.
