Columbia College Women, a division of the Columbia College Alumni Association, held its 13th Annual Alumna Achievement Award ceremony last night in Low Library. Ten women received CCW's most prestigious award, which honored alumnae in academia this year.

After years of trying and several failed attempts, labor advocates are once again pushing for legislation that would raise New York state's minimum wage. The bill would, if passed, raise the state's minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.10 within two years.

The Lions got off to a strong start last weekend--taking three of four games from Penn in the opening series of the Ivy League season--but the team must now face the rest of the Ancient Eight as the remaining clubs get their Ivy seasons under way.

The softball team faces the formidable challenge of opening the Ivy season against the best team in the league, Cornell. Though the Big Red has yet to see Ivy competition, they are currently 17-7, including an 11-4 record in Florida over spring break.
