In February, Yale team captain Alvin Cowan entered the office of Head Coach Jack Siedlecki. The league s top signal caller in 2003 confirmed his intention to return to the team in 04 as a fifth-year senior. Cowan s return for his final season of eligibility hardly came as a surprise.

Halfway through the 2003 season, things were looking grim for the then 1-4 Brown Bears. After the midpoint of the season, though, Brown was able to rally behind six-year veteran Head Coach Phil Estes and sophomore running back Nick Hartigan.
