It had the potential to be a great weekend. Football Fever was going to be better than Midnight Mania. With students and alumni packing the stands, the Lions were going to destroy the Tigers and cap off the homecoming festivities.

Columbia swept Friday's Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park a race which brings together the top teams in the tri-state area as the women won the event for the seventh straight year, while the men won for the sixth time in the last nine years.
