Columbia has a history of neglecting the little things. After all, this is the school that because of coin-flip confusion once kicked off to start both halves, at Yale in 2000. What makes the Lions' struggles this year so puzzling is that the 2003 squad seemed to have exorcised their demons.

It was more of the same this weekend for Columbia men's soccer, as the Lions dropped their third straight match, losing to Penn 2-0 in Philadelphia.

It seems all too familiar for the women's soccer team. Another solid first-half performance, another flurry of second-half goals, and another defeat. Like Brown did before them, the Quakers took full advantage of the lapses in concentration that have plagued this Columbia team.

Tied at one with one minute remaining, Columbia and Brown had battled for 69 minutes. Just one minute away from overtime and perhaps their second Ivy win of the season a whistle blew from the sidelines.
