The spring season of the Rabi-Warner Concert Series opened yesterday afternoon with a Rachmaninoff sonata performed for several dozen in the Faculty House. The music was beautiful, but the program just isn’t what it used to be.

They were supposed to be weak defensively, mediocre offensively, and struggling to stay out of the Ivy cellar. Coming into the season without their top player from last year, they were supposed to be looking up at Princeton and Penn from the bottom of the league.
