One hopes that Columbia has a nondiscrimination policy for reasons other than assuaging liberal guilt and posing as an “enlightened” institution. One hopes that the University intends to actually try to prevent discrimination from occurring.

Major declaration has come and gone for us sophomores, and, in the words of the philosophical collective Operation Ivy, the “wide-open road of our future” is “looking fucking narrow.” For some, declaring a major was relatively painless.

The 2004-05 season was looking to be a somewhat forgettable one for the women’s fencing team. The squad competed well all year, but an early loss to Harvard all but assured that they would not win the Ivy title for the second consecutive year.
