Free tuition, a stipend of anywhere from $18,000 to $25,000 per year, and half-priced health care—if I, as an undergraduate, received such an excellent deal, you can bet I would be kissing Lee Bollinger’s feet. After all, with student debt rising, who wouldn’t be grateful?

Junior Michelle Oh, along with her Impact party, should be congratulated for their victory. The party has many good ideas and seems to have the ability to match them. Now they must turn their attention to fulfilling their promises.

On Saturday, either the Harvard or Columbia women’s lacrosse team will finally snap its losing streak. Between the two teams, they have 14 losses in their last 14 games, with the Crimson accounting for 10 of them.

I was at Harvard last weekend, part of Spec’s delegation to a fancy-pants conference for Ivy League editors. There were big-shot keynoters and lots of informative sessions on everything from photojournalism to newsroom management. My favorite part was how they started at 9 a.m.

At 456 years old, the Dresden Staatskapelle is one of the oldest performing musical ensembles on earth. Last week, the musicians of the Dresden Staatskapelle played two evenings of concerts under the baton of the estimable Myung-Whun Chung at Carnegie Hall.
