Harlem artists just got a raise.
In September, the Harlem Arts Alliance announced it had received a $250,000 grant from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, a huge amount for the small organization.

Columbia University is deeply ensconced in an urban jungle that, by the end of 2006, will be just a little bit greener. The neighborhood's parks, Morningside and Riverside, are both undergoing extensive $10 million renovations in an effort to make them more appealing to local residents.

Anyone walking past the empty baseball fields on 103rd and 107th Streets would find it difficult to imagine that in just a few months they are scheduled to be transformed into state–of–the–art facilities with new artificial turf and many other improvements.

Do you feel all warm and fuzzy when you hear the word "diversity?" You should, because no concept more positive than diversity exists on a college campus. No group or proposal on this campus will get more support than one dedicated to diversity.
