If the University Senate has a meeting and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? The answer is about as obtainable as student interest in the University Senate, a problem caused to a certain extent by the Senate itself.

Throughout the first four weeks of the season, Ivy defenses have impressed. With no Ivy League team allowing more than 27 points, and only two teams squandering more than 15, defense seems to be emphasized as the obvious strength of the Ivy League.

The Lions' poor offensive play so far this season has consistently eclipsed the standout performance of the their defense. Last weekend's 14-7 loss to Lafayette was no exception.

Freshman Liz Dantzler has had a busy week. She scored her second consecutive game-winning goal this weekend against Penn, helping her earn Ivy Rookie of the Week honors. This was just a week after she scored her first collegiate goal.

Poor weather Saturday caused a postponement of play at the Macdonald Cup, and when it finally resumed, the Lions play mirrored the dreary weather. The Lions (598 strokes) finished 11th of 19 teams in the event, most of which was played on Sunday due to poor weather in the New Haven area.
