Columbia's fieldless field hockey team left Saturday's game with a big dose of confidence after defeating Yale 1-0 for their first Ivy League victory. Columbia's record improved to 7-8, 1-5 Ivy, as Yale fell to 6-10, 1-5 Ivy.

When a team wins somewhat consistently, it gets treated accordingly: as a winner. For the Columbia volleyball team, this newfound respect has its negative aspects along with the positives-for example, the Lions can no longer rest on the element of surprise.
