Today, the School of Engineering and Applied Science announced Alden Quimby as its valedictorian and Halvard Lange as salutatorian. Spec wishes them a huge congratulations!
Alden, hailing from the quaint town of Lee, New Hampshire, majored in computer science and minored in economics. His favorite professor at Columbia was Stephen Edwards. As well as scoring at the top of his class, Alden is casually training for a marathon. His favorite library is Uris, and he wishes that it were open to non-econ majors. Uris gods, you heard our val.
Read Halvard's bio, and see photos of the val and sal after the jump.
Halvard came to New York City from Oslo, Norway, and majored in mechanical engineering. His favorite class was Senior Design and his favorite professor was Robert Stark. In his spare time, Halvard likes to drink beer and wine with his good friends. Halvard, we have that in common with you. His words to live by: "None of us is as smart as all of us." Deep.
Correction: An earlier version of this post misspelled Alden Quimby's first name as Aiden. It has since been corrected. Spectator regrets the error.
