Do the Harlem BRUNCH!

Alright, its 12:00 p.m. and you've managed to roll out of bed a mere three hours after getting back from 1020 last night. You can't remember when the traffic sounds were more grating or the sunlight more blinding.'ll need some hair of the dog. Well, since it's still just the second week of school, you can safely procrastinate just long enough to check out these great bottomless brunch places scattered throughout Harlem:

  • Hudson River Cafe: (133rd and 12th Avenue) A quick walk from the 136th Street stop of the 1 train, or just a five minute walk from campus, Hudson River Cafe boasts spectacular views, friendly waitstaff, live jazz and---get this---$15 for unlimited mimosas. We like Hudson River Cafe especially, because we here at Spectrum like to think that we have refined tastes in music, and hence appreciate the live jazz.

Definitely the classiest on our list right now, even if it is a bit far uptown. Grab a $50 coupon for $25 and avoid all the priciness that everyone on yelp seems to be talking about. Brunch runs 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Cascabel Taqueria: (108th and Broadway) Just three minutes from McBain, Cascabel offers some great Mexican-American fusion. For brunch, have a $3 steak taco special. The taco always comes with a large pepper of some sort, and we always eat it to prove our spice-tolerance...and end up in the bathroom crying. But you can grab some unlimited drinks for only $12. If you plan on imbibing, make sure you come well before 4, because they usually stop serving the bottomless brunch option at 3 onwards. Brunch runs from 12pm - 4pm.
  • Lido Harlem: (117th and Frederick Douglass Boulevard) A stroll through Morningside Park brings you right to Lido's doorstep. With a fabulous menu and even better sangria, Lido's there for you. Apparently, it can get a bit loud, as it is very closely packed in there, but we usually did not find that a problem---the bottomless sangria was great at blocking out noise. For $13, you can get unlimited drinks. Brunch runs from 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • 5 & Diamond: (112th and Frederick Douglass) A new American cuisine restaurant, 5 & Diamond forces us to make the difficult choice between bottomless mimosas and bourbon and---wait for it---unlimited pancakes!!! Its like IHOP but not as depressing!! You know what this means---we get our pancake fill at 5 & Diamond, and party onwards. Brunch runs from 11 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Well, there you have it. Hope to see you there!
