Happy Monday!

Good morning! If you're still getting used to Spec's redesign, you may not have noticed how easy it now is to look at Spec's archives. If you scroll down the main page, there's a link to an issue around today's date a from a few decades ago. The paper up right now is from April 2nd, 1954, and there's Greek news and socialism and lots of other good things. Here are some more recent headlines:

Read this: this article discusses science programs on college walk this past Saturday, an effort by university students to share excitement about science to middle school students.

Know this: Yvonne Hsiao talks about her perception of different cultures and their relation to food in an opinion piece.

Here's more: Track and field did well at this past weekend's meet in Princeton, racking up a few top-five finishes.

The new design is awful. Way too many clicks and hard to navigate.

I like the new design. The focus on the main articles is where the focus of the paper should be IMHO (not that I don't like Spectrum).

I think the issue is that everything is white, so nothing stands out. if they shaded the spectrum box light blue, it would make it stand out against the rest of the page, and let people focus their attention more easily on either the articles or on spectrum.
