Shit Rick Santorum says

Now that he's officially won more primaries than Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum is once again in the limelight for something other than the alternate definition of his name.

His regained national prominence has also brought to light his sometimes interesting views on many hot-button issues. Below are some of his greatest hits.

Rick Santorum on the recent Pentagon decision to allow women to serve closer to the front lines:

Santorum on changing women's role in the military.

The former Pennsylvania Senator shares his views on gay marriage:

Sharing his views on who should decide who is a person based on President Obama's pro-choice stance:

Santorum has won more contests (including caucuses) than Romney, not primaries.

Actually one of the first Spec-related pieces I've genuinely enjoyed. It's hard to be anything but grim when faced with lunacy of the Santorum kind, but a piece like this is light-hearted (and, you know, absolutely 100 percent true, unfortunately) and weirdly fun. Nice!

there isn't a lot of opinion here though. There aren't comments provided with the picture other than explanation. These are just things that Rick Santorum said. It's not like, libel or anything.

I don't think this was meant to be an objective post in the first place. It's tagged purple for the eye, not blue for regular spectrum posts.

“I think we can assume that 95 percent of the black men in that city [Washington, D.C.] are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.” -Ron Paul. Yeah. He's really brilliant. THE MAN IS CLEARLY A RACIST. and whether or not you believe in his stances on other issues, a person who believes that black people are inferior (or worse, who pretends to believe that in order to appeal to a white audience) should not be the leader of the free world.

Thanks for the thoughts. This post is tagged "The Eye" specifically because it is not news, but content from our weekly magazine, The Eye, which does tend to have a much more opinionated tone.

Since the blog is a conglomeration of different content sections from the paper (each section is distinguished both in writing at the top of the post and by the color of its tagbar), we are going to have lots of stuff here that contains an opinionated voice. In fact, that's probably almost all we'll have.

We will very occasionally publish straight news in circumstances where it's breaking or where it doesn't warrant inclusion in the paper. I realize this may be confusing, because we have been inconsistent about it in the past. But that's the way we're doing things going forward. If you're looking for straight news, you should generally check the right-hand side of the page (the newspaper's site). The blog will tend to be opinionated since its purpose is to jumpstart conversation.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

i'm a fan of santorum by any means, but this post is really politically polarized. if it were filed under (or hashtagged or whatever spectrum does with those color bars at the top of the post) Opinion, different story, but this seems like straight up bashing with no regard for objectivity
